Brick Police: Have You Seen This Robbery Suspect, Still On the Loose?

Man, wearing wig, entered bank and said, 'Put the money in the bag and no one will get hurt'

The man caught on a surveillance camera while allegedly robbing the TD Bank branch on Burnt Tavern Road Thursday night is still on the loose.

The suspect is described as an approximately 40-year-old white male, 5-foot-2 in height with acne scarring on his face. He was last seen wearing a brown-gray windbreaker, jeans and running shoes. He was also wearing a large brown wig and sunglasses.

The man entered the bank at about 7 p.m. and said to a teller, “Put the money in the bag and no one will get hurt," Sgt. Henry Drew said in a statement.

After receiving a quantity of money from the teller the suspect fled the bank on foot and was believed to be headed in the direction of the CVS Pharmacy, which is located just across the parking lot, Drew said.

Officers set up a perimeter in the area and began a systematic search, eventually receiving air support from the New Jersey State Police's Southstar helicopter, Drew said. The search, however, did not turn up the suspect.

The Brick Police K-9 Unit, the Brick Police Criminal Investigation Unit, and the Brick Police Detective Bureau also responded to help with the investigation, Drew said.

The robbery is being investigated by Detective Thomas Cooney of the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau.  Anyone with information is asked to call Cooney at 732-262-4708, or the Detective Bureau at 732-262-1120.
