ReplyHeatherB...with all due respect....the 4 year old needs a responsible mommy, and the neighborhood needed responsible neighbors, who cared and respected their rights and common sense when it came to locking up their guns and ammo. Doesn't seem that the mommy didn't have the decency to keep her child safe, physically and now emotionally. Never mind the fact that a young child lost his life, to her inability to make sure her house was a safe house, and also care about the safety and lives of the neighborhood children.
Mommy's have the ultimate responsibility of the safety of their children.
Harsh, but realistic. Mommy also bears responsibility in this horrific tragedy.
Sad that another mommy doesn't have her child with her to love. -

ReplyGrandstanding?...that's the pot calling the kettle black....
Were any of the neighbors warned ahead of time that the Senatore's were putting the lives of the neighbors, and their own children in such danger?
Where were those warnings.
Sorry to hear Senatore wasn't told ahead of time he was going to be arrested, especially during his dinner hour.... -

suz...yes, let's let the Senatore father just live the rest of his life not understanding that there are consequences for his inactions.
A child was killed by his inactions. He needs to suffer the consequences so that he will learn that you have to be a responsible gun owner. You have to be a responsible father. You have to be a responsible neighbor. If he doesn't get jail time, he will think he can get away with not securing his deadly weapons.
A young child is dead. This is not TV...or movies. This is real life. -

The Captain
Lynching isn't what is being called for. You are reading emotions that are being felt towards a situation that should have been prevented.
It is such an easy thing to secure guns and ammo, especially when you have children in the house and children in the neighborhood.
Jail sentence is appropriate. It's obvious the Senatore family did not do what is right, which resulted in the death of a young boy, and lasting emotional trauma to another young boy.
What will the Senatores have learned if they aren't sentenced appropriately in the death of a child? What are we saying to every law abiding citizen who does secure their guns and ammo?
What are we saying about laws in this country if they are not strictly enforced?
God Bless the Holt family. God Bless Brandon, and God Bless the Senatores' children. May they all find some sense of peace. -

YellowBird....I think it's time to really imagine yourself in the shoes of the Holt family, instead of wearing the flip flops of the Senatores family.
And please stop drinking their Kool Aid. -

Oh, you must have had a feeling of remorse, picking on the Holt family.
Stop drinking Kool Aid with the Senatore family. That might help. -

YellowBird....did they know that the Senatore's were self-centered irresponsible people who don't care for their children in a responsible manner, let alone respect their neighbors rights?
I guess we now need a registry to let people know that their neighbors may be lacking in brains and allowing guns to be loaded and accessible to their children.
God Bless the Holt family .... -

ReplyThis case is as serious as it gets. A child accidently kills another child.
If the parents had locked up the guns, this would have never happened.
Both parents are responsible, and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They both knew how dangerous it was to keep loaded guns within reach of their children.
Let us hope there isn't some special plea deal made. Because of their disregard for others, a child is gone, and one will be affected the rest of his life. Shame on them.

Heather B...I did realize that you are Brandon's cousin, hence the "with all due respect". Through you, we all are feeling the anger, and pain because of the Senatore's irresponsible behavior.
I also thank you for allowing me to give my opinion. I still feel that the 4 year's old mommy should be held responsible, and with that being said, I hope that someone continues to check on the welfare of the child and make sure the mother understands the ramifications of her in-actions.
Also, I feel that the Senatore's may be my someones future neighbor, and that both her and her irresponsible husband understand their responsibility to the rights of others.
Thank you for allowing me to "vent" a bit. Peace....
