Brick Man Indicted For Second Time In a Month
Anthony Acevedo now formally accused of robbing Rite Aid store
An Ocean County grand jury has returned the second indictment in a month against a Brick man. Anthony Azevedo, 26, of Birch Bark Drive, is now accused of tring to break into the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Burnt Tavern Road the night of May 2. He was arrested after Brick Police Ptl. Scott Smith heard banging noises coming from the pharmacy and then saw a man, later determined to be Azevedo, swinging a hammer against the store's drive-in window, according to Capt. John Rein. Azevedo is free on $20,000 bail. In June, a grand jury returned a separate indictment against Azevedo for allegedly being armed with a knife when he threatened to cut an off-duty Lavallette police officer in the parking lot of the Brick Wal-Mart store on Feb. 13. Brick is not the safe place it used to be any longer. It is a very sad thing. These criminals (terrorists) should NOT be allowed on the streets of our town or any other town.
