A bank robbery occurred at the OceanFirst Bank branch on Adamston Road, Brick police said. The robbery was reported to police by an alarm company at approximately 3:45 p.m., Sgt. Keith Reinhard said. At that time, an unknown suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The note indicated that the suspect had a handgun, but no weapons were shown, said Reinhard. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 foot tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap, dark hooded coat, a light grey shirt, blue jeans and dark sneakers. Chris just a fyi, i believe its standard bank policy not to activate their alarm until after robber is out of building in order to avoid any type of hostage situation. The officer at the vfw wouldnt get the call until the robber left the area anyway.   more ›
