Brick Resident Arrested for Pulling Gun, Threatening Man
25-year-old also charged with drug, resisting offenses
A Brick man is behind bars after he threatened a couple with a gun, then resisted arrest, police said. Matthew Sanfilippo, 25, of Village Way, was arrested early Friday morning. Police responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store on Route 88 after receiving a call from Sanfilippo's alleged victim, Edward Trost, 25, of Toms River at about 12:20 a.m. Trost told police that he and his girlfriend picked up Sanfilippo at his residence and were bringing him to a party on Fairway Drive in Brick. Once they arrived at the party, Sanfilippo took out a black handgun, pointed it at Trost and threatened him with it, Trost reported, according to Sgt. Keith Reinhard.
