Society opens its multiple, historic buildings off Herbertsville Road, to the public
The Brick Township Historical Society opened its historic buildings for the season on Saturday, inviting the public to check out the old-time farm houses and premiering a new exhibit on classic quilts. The society's museum, off Herbertsville Road, will now be open on a regular schedule. Check the society's website for more details.
Group plans on working with T-Mobile
A planned cellular tower off Herbertsville Road has ruffled the feathers of members of the local historical society, but litigation is off the table, its leader said. T-Mobile is planning to build a cellular communications tower at the firefighter training facility off Herbertsville Road. The location of the proposed tower would be across the street from a number of buildings owned by the Brick Township Historical Society, said Jane Fabach, the group's president. "It changes the outlook of the landscape," Fabach said, of the proposed tower, the details of which are still in the planning stages. "We have Civil War soldiers marching there in August. What you all have to keep in mind is that T-Mobile is or very shortly will be owned by AT&T. So it's really AT&T towers at this point.   more ›
