Model Heidi Klum is reviewing the best of the hundreds of entries in Patch's nationwide Halloween costume contest to pick a winner, who will be announced later this week, plus nine runnersup, each of whom will receive a donation of $1031 to their favorite charity. But in the meantime, we thought you'd like to see what we thought were the best of our photos here in New Jersey.

Halloween Curfew Begins Sunday

Extra officers will be out on patrol, PD says

Brick Police will begin enforcing an early curfew on Sunday, according to Capt. John Rein. Traditionally, municipalities and police departments work to enforce a curfew around Halloween to cut down on vandalism associated with the holiday and "mischief night" which precedes it. Rein said in an e-mail that juveniles under 17 years of age will be prohibited from being on any public street or any public place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., Oct. 30 through Nov. 1. Normally, Brick has a 10 p.m. curfew. There are some exceptions to the law, Rein said. They include: Juveniles can also travel in a car in town when they are out in connection with any of the exceptions. The penalty for violating the curfew is community service of up to 240 …

That's what we intend to find out with your photos and the help of celebrity judge Heidi Klum, who will select the Grand Prize winner in our nationwide contest. The Grand Prize? Patch will whisk the winner to New York or Los Angeles for a three-day, two-night trip for two that includes a meet and greet with Heidi, plus a donation of $1031 to a local charity of the winner's choice.
