Eric Kim died when his boat and "No Surrender" crashed
A man from the Colonia section of Woodbridge died after his boat and another boat collided on the ocean off Long Branch, state police said on Monday morning. Eric Kim, 31, died after his boat was struck off Long Branch by "No Surrender," a 38-foot boat piloted by Thomas Oloughlin, 44, of Princeton, on Saturday afternoon, said Sgt. Brian Polite. Kim's passenger, Soo Lee, 34, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, suffered cuts, but was not seriously injured, Polite said. Polite said police are not releasing the names of the passengers aboard "No Surrender," but did say that the pilot and passengers were not injured. William Scott Steiner Jr. perished in Sunday night crash
William Scott Steiner Jr., 75, is the Brick man who died when his car crashed in Point Borough on Sunday night, said Borough Police Chief Larry Williams. Steiner had crashed his car into a traffic light and utility pole at the corner of Bridge and Bay avenues at about 9:35 p.m. Sunday, Williams had said. No other car was involved in the accident, he said. The victim had been pronounced dead at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, where he was transported by the Point Boro First Aid Squad, Williams said. "The victim, who was alone at the time of the accident, struck the control box for the traffic light as well as a utility pole," Williams said. Man had crashed into traffic light and utility pole
A 75-year-old Brick man died after crashing his car into a traffic light and utility pole at the corner of Bridge and Bay avenues, said Police Chief Larry Williams. "The Point Pleasant Police Department is investigating a single vehicle accident which occurred last evening about 9:35 p.m.," Williams said. The victim was pronounced dead at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, where he was transported by the Point Boro First Aid Squad, he said. "The victim, who was alone at the time of the accident, struck the control box for the traffic light as well as a utility pole," Williams said. Woman who died was heading home after being involved in a fender bender
The driver of the van involved in the Saturday evening accident at the intersection of Route 70 and Massachusetts Avenue faces a slew of charges, including death by auto, driving under the influence, being an unlicensed driver, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an injury accident, along with other motor vehicle charges, according to Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. The driver was identified as Abel Hernandez, 127 North Oak Avenue, Lakewood. Hernandez is being held in the Ocean County Jail on $175,000 bail set by Judge James Blaney. Hernandez is also being held on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement due to his illegal status, according to police. Hernandez allegedly fled the van after the accident…

Police said driver flees after turning head-on into victim's truck
A 71 year-old woman passenger died from injuries after a van turned head-on into a pick-up truck on Route 70 Saturday evening. The driver of the van fled on foot and is now in police custody, officials said. Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy has not released the names of the victims, or the driver of the second vehicle. He said that shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, a pick-up truck heading westbound on Route 70 struck a van that was making a turn from Route 70 east onto Massachusetts northbound. The driver of the van, a 28 year-old Lakewood man, hopped out of the van and ran north. Canine police found him in the ensuing manhunt on Massachusetts Avenue.
