Eric Kim died when his boat and "No Surrender" crashed
A man from the Colonia section of Woodbridge died after his boat and another boat collided on the ocean off Long Branch, state police said on Monday morning. Eric Kim, 31, died after his boat was struck off Long Branch by "No Surrender," a 38-foot boat piloted by Thomas Oloughlin, 44, of Princeton, on Saturday afternoon, said Sgt. Brian Polite. Kim's passenger, Soo Lee, 34, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, suffered cuts, but was not seriously injured, Polite said. Polite said police are not releasing the names of the passengers aboard "No Surrender," but did say that the pilot and passengers were not injured. 15-year-old boy struck on Herbertsville Road
A 15-year-old boy was struck by a car while walking alongside Herbertsville Road on Thursday, and police are asking the public for help in locating the driver. The teenager was walking in the northbound lane of Herbertsville Road just north of Maple Avenue when, at one point, he entered a lane of traffic to retrieve a drink bottle. A vehicle in the northbound lane then struck him near the shoulder line, according to a police report. Brick Township Police EMS and MONOC paramedics responded along with police officers and transported the boy to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment of injuries to his arm and head. Robert F. Sheridan, 61, killed in crash, police say
Brick Police say a 61-year-old township man died after being hit by two vehicles Thursday night. Robert F. Sheridan was first struck by a 2009 Ford Focus driven by John J. Gibbons, 79, of Toms River in the westbound lane of travel on Route 88, according to Sgt. Keith Reinhard. The accident occurred about 50 feet west of the intersection of Route 88 and Truman Drive around 10:21 p.m. Police say the impact of the crash caused Sheridan to land in the eastbound lane of Route 88 where he was struck a second time by a 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 driven by Sally A. Funeral held Tuesday morning at Church of the Visitation in Brick
A busy viewing which required police officers to direct traffic a day earlier culminated in a more subdued, solemn funeral Mass Tuesday for one of the victims of an automobile accident in Pine Beach last week. The accident claimed the lives of three young adults from Ocean County. Matthew H. Witzgall, 21, of Toms River, was laid to rest at the Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, following a funeral Mass celebrated at the Church of the Visitation on Mantoloking Road in Brick. Given the number of drivers who ignore red lights and stop signs in town, i'm surprised we don't have more serious and fatal accidents. Alot of drivers ignore posted 25mph speed zones in neighborhoods. On my street, the 25mph is clearly posted in 2 places and some on our street FLY up and down the block at 50mph or greater and just don't care.
