Freeholders: Brick VA Clinic Good, Hospital Would Be Better

Little urging Senate to get on board with study.

Ex-Marine Gerry P. Little is urging the New Jersey Senate to follow the lead of the state Assembly and create an 18-member panel to study the need for a veterans' hospital to serve southern New Jersey. Buoyed by the 79-0 passage of the measure by the Assembly on Nov. 22, Little said Senate approval would mean a chance to "finally convince the Veterans Administration a hospital is needed in the southern part of the state.'' "We currently have a wonderful clinic in Brick, but it's not a full hospital,'' said Little, an Ocean County freeholder from Surf City.
