 A state of emergency has been declared as the height of a storm forecast to dump up to 18 inches of snow on the region rolled through Sunday night. Brick Twp. public works crews manned snow plows and began clearing local streets. The township's policy on snow removal calls for plows to operate after snow has accumulated to more than 4 inches. At about 8 p.m., acting Governor and Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney signed an order declaring a state of emergency throughout New Jersey due to the dangerous snow conditions.
