Free Storm Cleanup Supplies in Brick Sunday

AMWAY will be at Brick PAL building

Local Amway business owners Bob and Sue Covino will provide free supplies to those still cleaning up from Superstorm Sandy this Sunday. Amway has donated approximately 25 pallets – more than $150,000 worth of merchandise – to be given away to storm victims. The supplies include all-purpose, multi-purpose, bathroom, and kitchen cleaners and disinfectants. The supplies will be available for pick up at no cost on a first come, first served basis, the company said. The give-away will take place Sunday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Brick Police Athletic League building, 60 Drum Point Road. The company, which has contributed about $400,000 to storm victims, is also accepting donations to the American Red Cross on its website and has …

Volunteers, Sandy Victims to Brick PAL: Don't Kick Us Out

Brick council strongly urges PAL to allow relief effort to continue

Brick Township council members, volunteers, residents and those who ate their last hot meal at the Brick Police Athletic League building came together to call on the organization to stop its plan to kick out a volunteer group that has been helping feed local victims of Superstorm Sandy. Volunteers with the Operation Brick Food Relief group have been serving hot meals to storm victims since Sandy made landfall. The group has also taken over some of Ocean County Meals on Wheels’ routes and provided food for those in other local communities, as well as National Guard troops. Brick PAL Announces 'PAL of the Year' Winners

Police chief, business leaders to be honored

The Brick Police Athletic League announced the winners of its annual "PAL of the Year" awards today. PAL of the Year is the opportunity for the Brick PAL to recognize those in the community that have gone above and beyond in assisting the Brick PAL and the youth in the community, said Dan McKevitt, PAL Executive Director. This year's winners include: The PAL's "Youth Volunteer of the Year" award went to Reilly McCarthy and Alexis Schuller who are both Brick High School students. The awards will be presented to the winners at a banquet which will take place Friday Oct. 19 at the Woodlake Country Club in Lakewood.
