Artistically-inclined young Brick residents are awarded for fire prevention posters they designed.
Brick is lucky, according to Brick Township Fire Marshall Kevin Batzel. Not only has the township avoided a national trend of a growing number of home fires, but even the youngsters in town are helping to spread the message of fire safety to their parents. "Our goal is to make sure Brick Township is, in terms of fire safety, the safest town in New Jersey," said Batzel, as he prepared to award nearly 30 young township residents – from pre-school to high school age – certificates of recognition for using their artistic skills to promote fire safety throughout the state.
