The New Jersey Turnpike Authority should be responsible for replacing the tree's and putting up oneRead More of those ugly looking sound walls. The tree's were present when they moved there and should be replaced by the NJTA. It is a quality of life issue.
KC July 25, 2014 at 07:38 am
Ya know these people have a legitimate gripe and i hope they prevail. The town wants the StateRead More Parkway Authority to replant or install a barrier and they should be held accountable. However this township is not so sympathetic to people who live in normal, average housing developments when they grant permits to birdbrains who convert ranch houses into McMansions on 90 by 100 foot lots. This bozo next to me overbuilt on a postage stamp lot, had to spend well into over half a million dollars. He still has only a one car garage, hogs all neighborhood parking, his AC units would wake the dead, and the fugly hotel sized castle of his towers over the rest of the homes, blocking light and attracting his boatload of step-kids and barking dogs on weekends. The zoning in this town is truly shite and the leadership non-existent. They can cut and trim and eliminate and pare back all they want. The town is losing its tax base due to some asinine moves. I am glad I am not invested as heavily as McNeighbor in an on the skids town and will sell to the first Hassid w. a briefcase of dough.
elkor July 25, 2014 at 08:40 am
KC you sound jealous (and off topic). I know you'll say you aren't, and maybe that's the case, butRead More it is his lot I'm sure you would be singing a different song if your permits were denied for something you wanted to do.. "this town wants to control what I can do on my legally purchased land" or some such noise. also: what's with the racist "first Hassid w. a briefcase" comment?

All Public Employee's should be put on a salary freeze. No one should get raises on their salariesRead More until the economy turns around. As you can see here that will never happen. I agree with a post comment if you leave NJ with your big public worker pension then you loose half of it. It is ridiculous what some are getting only to give it to another state.
Rick Ricky July 25, 2014 at 08:12 am
No more raises for anyone.
Judy Nagel July 25, 2014 at 08:25 am

I would think that if Piero actually depends on his salary and benefits from his public worker jobRead More he would have serious concerns about an overly ambitious, opportunistic and out of control politician who is AGAIN cheaply and unfairly targeting middle class public workers in his state in order to score some national recognition points from Republican extremists. And as corporate, non-executive employees in this country have been increasingly treated unfairly for years with their CEO's pay continuing to explode upward as their pay is remains stagnant and their benefits shrink, that shouldn't mean that public workers should also accept that same fate. Non-executive corporate employees have to also learn to unionize and organize to stand up to the continuing mistreatment.

Just go to Windward Beach and observe all the great benefits to the quality of life in Brick,Read More especially now that the state-of-the-art playground is in operation, and then imagine Brick Township without it. Preserve as much open space as possible and you'll NEVER regret it.
Joe P July 24, 2014 at 05:37 pm
Seems like alot of unanswered questions regarding the demolition of the building. I could beRead More mistaken but it seems we, the tax paying resident's of Brick paid for the demolition of the building. .. and how much did we pay? Who did we pay it to? and Why didn't the developer pay for it? Any of these questions worth investigating? Before they develop anything on that site, the developer should be mandated to pay the demolition fee back to the town.
J.JONES July 24, 2014 at 06:05 pm
Scarpelli's idea was a good one but this lot has been an eye sore now since 2003 so what ever theyRead More paid for it 2million?? Hasn't been worth it ..So if its worth 7.5 million ? how much have we spent in lawyers fee's and engineers, and lean up ? Get out of the real estate business and sell this and but that money to better use like lowering our taxes...

Mr. Epping July 25, 2014 at 07:02 am
JG, the idea behind sites like this is anonymity, people can discuss issues without fear ofRead More retribution. J.Jones is correct, there are two sides to a ledger and the town should show both. only time will tell if the moves improve the efficiency of our local government.

Any communication concerning illegal and/or criminal activity should be discoverable and usedRead More against any party. The intent of the law and the goal of justice are both undermined when criminals stand behind a technical rule that should not apply. A great start to dealing with the reality of crime.

@Winston Smith I noticed on another "Patch" you were asking somebody if they had vinylRead More records. If you go onto "Brick Patch", conversation section and scroll down you will see somebody is selling some "old vinyls" with their original sleeves. He/She says they are in good condition, some "Beatle's" and He/She has some 45's. I apologize to everyone else I know this is off topic!

I have seen these 2 scummers around Lakewood several times, hopefully I will again after they getRead More out. I'd like to discuss their immigration situation over some tequila while explaining American history to them including what was done with men like them before fools changed the laws here to protect the criminals while ignoring the victims. I'm sure it will be an interesting discussion that will hold their interest

Just because I'm in the carousel management business doesn't mean I'm all mobbed up!
A Resident July 22, 2014 at 09:25 am
Art H, it means no one is paying to ride the carousel. It's a pretty simple process with the rideRead More business. If enough people are not paying to ride a ride, the ride gets changed to something else. Simple rule of business.
Jane Doe July 22, 2014 at 12:02 pm
If the carousel had been placed on the national historic resgistry, the owners would not have beenRead More allowed to sell it. Unfortunately, nobody had the forsight to see that they would actually ever sell it. I mean, the carousel is the heart of the boardwalk. Perhaps a crowd funding site would be of use. You'd need to find a location and either an owner or group who is willing to maintain and preserve it, as well as operate it and pay ( what is likely ) huge insurance fees. It should definitely stay in NJ. As for me and mine ... we are finished with the Seaside boardwalk. Let the drunks and derelicts take it. They want one big bar scene with tacky shops and greasy food stands .... that's what they'll get.

It's interesting to note that the refunds will be distributed in the month prior to theRead More Congressional elections in November. Any possibility that we are supposed to be favorably inclined toward our incumbent elected officials just before they come up for reelection?

@ Denny D..SHAMELESS showing no shame or modesty ..So I agree Ex mayor Steve had issues and tookRead More care of his friends and family ...Agreed ..But the Democrats ran 2 elections that they would stop that kind of politics in Bricktown have you looked to see who's in postions where republicans have been removed from ..Democrat's filled them all some with higher pay and some were retired with pensions and now there working again ...SO They are no different its part of the game they all play and the average person gets the shaft ..Theres no saving wait and see when the numbers come out ..and they get what they want at council meeting cause no one there to argue right or wrong ...Council should be a mix of both parties to keep everyone honest ..

JJ you are so right! Any one who does not realize what you said is a fool, and so one sided, thatRead More they cannot reason. And it hurts them as well, unless they are in the wagon being pulled as well, but the most anyone can hope for in this present atmosphere of politics is having both parties at even count at vote time, this way we are all better off if they want to play politics, nothing gets done, and doesn't cost as much because of impasse!!! And if we can get some council that really cares, it would be special. Like Jim Gearhart says on 101.5 Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians (GRIP) !!
