Stevie - Do you realize that one in six hospitals in the US is run (non-profit) by the CatholicRead More church? Imagine those closing? How many patients in those hospitals are not Catholic and yet are treated without question? I have a feeling that Americans sense of entitlement goes beyond the scope of the federal government and now apparently the church owes folks housing, education, healthcare, etc. We are in deep trouble when those with their hands out exceed the numbers of citizens able to fill them.

This chinese auction is planned a year in advance. The PTO is Saint Joe's Grade School is working onRead More next years as we speak! For those of you who don't know what that money is used for I will enlighten you. It is used for upkeep of the school i.e. refinishing of the gymnasium floors and other repairs that the school may need. See, unlike the public schools the Catholic Schools do not have unlimited funds to make the repairs anytime that they want. They are not supported by the TAXPAYERS they survive by tuition and fundraisers! About Hurricane Sandy.. in addition to housing those families the schools (Saint Joe's Grade School and Monsignor Donovan High School) filled a tractor trailer FULL of food, water, blankets and clothing for people affected by Hurricane Sandy, at a Monsignor Donovan football game people were asked to bring some kind of food item or a school item to help the Lavallette School while they were being house at St. Barbara's Greek Church after Hurricane Sandy. Plus, the schools also run food drives for the parish food pantry that not only feeds members of the parish who need help with food but, also help feed many others in the community, there are kids from the high school that go and give out food to people in Asbury Park. They high school sports teams and music department go Irvington and give gifts to underprivileged kids, they work with Habitat for Humanity and many other so before you run your mouth perhaps you get your facts straight!

KC - Want Change? Read the "Change the Rules Pledge" on NationalTruth.org. We'veRead More challenged all candidates for all public office to recuse themselves from the decision-making process (in committee, in the House and Senate) where a conflict of interest exists. There is much more to tell. You have finally got "good men and true" standing to represent you. Many people talk a good game - our guys live and breathe it.

This whole MM issue is BS. Thirty seven years ago my dad was advised (off the record by a Dr.) toRead More try a bit of pot to combat nausea brought on by chemo, it helped. My recently deceased wife was taking three drugs for the same reason, they only partially worked. When you can't hold down a glass of water without nausea do you really care if the substance that helps is legal? NJ is an hour late and a dollar short as usual.

Frederick John LaVergne, here - "Democratic Republican" for Congress in the ThirdRead More District...My running mates Tracy Caprioni, Scott Newman, and I are Conservative Constitutionalists who are not beholden to either party's puppet-masters or any lobbyists. One of our primary issues is being totally ignored in the press. There is a lawsuit pending in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals that every single person in your community should know about. Oral Arguments are scheduled for 09/14/2012 for "LaVergne v. Bryson, et al" - Docket # 12- 1171 - a suit compelling the recognition and application of the newly discovered ratification of Article the First of the Bill of Rights. If you would like to know more about this, and would like to report the truth to your readership, please reach out to me at upholdtheusconstitution@hotmail.com, or wcprv@hotmail.com. You missed my candidacy, by the way. Make up for it with an interview. I am at your disposal at the second e-mail address. Frederick John LaVergne, "Democratic-Republican" for Congress - NJ Third Congressional District.

I used to spend a good part of my summers out in a little cabin in Pennsylvania with myRead More grandparents. Jack and his lovely wife also had a place nearby. My grandfather and Jack worked togther at both the Point Pleasant Police Department and at in the Point Pleasant School system (along with my father). So I knew Jack from the time I was a small child all the way thru my early adulthood. In hign school, I joined the Key Club and Mr. Watson was a strong influence, calling me out when I was doing things wrong and showing me the meaning of service to others. He never cut me any slack because our families were friends, but held me to a higher standard. Back then I thought it was harsh and unfair, but today I can honestly say, they were some of the best lessons I have ever learned! His commitment to helping others still shapes who I am today and I continue to strive to be a better person and give back to my community every chance I get. I just hope that when my day comes, it can be said that was half the man he a was. - Rich Kelly
