William, Yes, but I can get comped and go to AC and comped and go to the Bahamas. Do I have toRead More think twice about where I'm going? Also, and not that I'm in a hurry to go to either place, the Poconos got gambling and it helped them. The Catskills didn't and they're dead. Miami Beach re-gentrified and it's a fine place to go after many dark years, so I'm not sure what you're referring to there. Mystic? Not sure what you're talking about, but it still looks like a decent seaport and aquarium, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. I don't know anything about Smithville and can't comment. Some places, like Hoboken, like Miami, like midtown Manhattan (it was pretty nasty there back in the '70s) knew they had to do something and re-invent themselves. Other places, like Newark, have been rotting since the 1967 riots and seem to be waiting for someone else to deliver a truckload of fairy dust because they can't seem to be able to get off their asses there. For some reason, AC figured that the novelty of casino gambling on the east coast would carry them along for many years. But they had to re-invent themselves, too, as in cleaning up the city, and never did it. And look where they are. It sure as heck isn't a gambling destination like Vegas or the Caribbean; it's a day trip, at best. So, between the honky tonk, as you say, that's a big part of the Jersey shore (and we can't forget about the hole that is Asbury Park) and Atlantic City tanking, I'm convinced this state has been run by idiots for many years.
William July 21, 2014 at 09:35 pm

MissElaneyS - I do agree with you that it is the choice of the consumer about where they make theirRead More purchases, but I suppose we're all just hoping people become more informed and choose not to buy from pet stores, thus perpetuating the atrocities in mass commercial breeding facilities. I am very sorry for your experiences with shelter dogs so far; however, like Stephen said, that can happen with any dog. Many dogs sold in pet stores are also ill. You never know what you're getting in either place. And please know that rescuing a dog does not mean you have to go to a shelter and get an older dog. You can get puppies through rescue groups. My family has fostered many puppies that were only 10 weeks old and they all got adopted out into great homes. Petfinder.com is a great place to look for dogs. You can search for the age, sex, and breed and the website will link you to local rescue groups and shelters that have what you're looking for. In addition, you can always go to a GOOD, REPUTABLE breeders that allows you to visit his or her home and only breeds one or two litters at a time. Ask your vet for reputable breeders. The bottom line is, good breeders do not sell to pet stores. Good breeders want to know where their puppies are going. Hopefully your next experience with purchasing/rescuing a dog will be a good one.

Any full breed or mixed can snap that's why they do an intensive questioning when you adopted aRead More puppy or an older dog .Some times its not the dog it how its treated and trained so people shouldn't have pets...Its a shame a little one was hurt and now that will be on there mind for a long time hope everyone is ok..Its a sad this place keeps getting bad reviews and if all true something should be done ..

Do not buy from breeders!! Most are puppy mills. Many are in PA. They over breed for income. AnimalsRead More are abused, not given medical attention and will die there when they can no longer produce litters. How can you advertise for them? ADOPT FROM AN ANIMAL SHELTER !!!!!!! 2 million animals die in shelters every year. 2 MILLION. Breeding should be completely banned in myRead More opinion. PLEASE ADOPT, DON'T SHOP. You can find pretty much any pure breed you want in a shelter.
