Brick Woman Named Deputy Grand Marshal of St. Patrick's Day Parade
The Belmar-Lake Como Parade is March 2
Mary Keaney, a Brick resident, has just been named the Deputy Grand Marshal of the Belmar-Lake Como St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The parade will be held on March 2.
The parade planning committee just released an announcement about the grand marshal, deputy grand marshal and a slew of events and activities coming up before the big day.
"The Belmar-Lake Como St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee is pleased to announce that John Sheridan, Monroe Township, will be this year's Grand Marshal and Mary Keaney, Brick Township, is the Deputy Grand Marshal," says a prepared statement from the committee.
This year's fundraisers and activities leading up to the parade are:
Sunday, January 19: Friendly Sons Of The Shillelagh, Route 18 South, Old Bridge, 3 to 7 pm. Irish Music & FSOS pipes and drums. Complimentary drink, Hot & Cold buffet. Donation $10.
Sunday, January 26: Bar Anticipation, 16th Ave, Lake Como. 2 to 6 pm. Hot & Cold Buffet. Music by The Snakes. Complimentary drink. Donation $10.
Sunday, February 9: Connolly Station, Main St., Belmar. 2 to 6 pm. Live entertainment Hot & Cold Buffet. Donation $10.
Sunday, February 16: Boathouse Bar & Grill, Main St & 15th Ave, Belmar. 2 to 6 pm. Live entertainment Hot & Cold Buffet. Donation $10.
Sunday, February 23: 507 Main St., Belmar. 2 to 6 pm. Live entertainment Hot & Cold Buffet Donation $10.
Friday, February 28: An Evening of Irish culture: Irish Heroes of the Civil War, Waterview Pavilion, Hwy 35, Belmar. 6:30 To 10:30 pm. Tickets $65 (advance only through Feb. 17th, no sales at door), includes cocktail hour, 4 course dinner and open bar. The Irish Volunteer - David Kincaid - will share stores of the Irish Brigade and perform their music, in authentic Civil War uniform, plus Irish Step dancers and music by Paddy and the Pale Boys!
