BTMUA to Flush Distribution System, Golf Tournament, Special BOE Meeting in Brick This Week

Also, toward the end of the week, the Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a dance party.

It is going to be a busy week in Brick, starting today.

The Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority will be flushing its distribution system beginning on or about Sept. 16, 2013 and continuing through October, 2013. 

Distribution system flushing is a normal water system maintenance exercise and will help in our effort to continue to provide the best quality water to our customers.

During flushing, Brick Utilities employees will be working along roadways. 

Residents driving in areas where flushing is taking place, are urged to drive cautiously for the safety of yourself and other employees.  Residents with questions should call Brick Utilities at (732) 458-7000 ext. 4255.

Also today, The Brick Municipal Awareness Committee (BMAC) will host their 12th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood.

The tournament is a fundraiser for the Brick Township Department of Parks and Recreation and BMAC. The entry fee for the tournament is $150 per golfer and includes green fees, cart, bag drop service, locker room facility, driving range, breakfast, lunch and prizes. Admission to lunch is $50. The golf tournament is a 4-person scramble format.

Registration and breakfast begin at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start follows at 8 a.m.

 Lunch and prizes will begin at approximately 1pm.

BMAC is comprised of volunteers from the community who work with staff to develop and implement drug and substance abuse prevention programs in our community. BMAC is a component of the Brick Township Department of Parks and Recreation.

On Tuesday, Sept. 17, join the Jersey Shore Business Leaders from 6 to 8 p.m. for a night of business networking at Houlihan's, located 491 Route 70. The event is $10, which includes appetizers and discounted drinks, and proceeds will benefit the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization.

On Wednesday. Sept. 18, the Brick Board of Education has scheduled a special Board of Education meeting for 6:30 p.m. at the Administration Building, on Hendrikson Avenue.

On Friday, Sept. 20, The Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a Dance Party for students in grades 5-8 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Civic Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road.

This year's dances will feature karaoke and is free to attend. All students must be registered. Students will only be released to a parent or authorized adult at the conclusion of the dance. To register, please call 732-262-1074.
