Brick PBA distributes toys to needy children

Over 1,000 toys collected, distributed by PBA Local 230

An annual Christmas tradition continues in Brick this week.

Members of PBA Local 230 embarked on their annual toy distribution effort this week, according to Peter Thomas, a member of the local association. Over 1,080 toys were collected this season, thanks to PBA members, Walmart, K-mart and the U.S. Marine Corps through its Toys for Tots program. Every year, the Brick PBA organization delivers the toys to needy children in town.

"It is the generosity of the Brick Twp. residents, as well, that this a success every year," said Thomas, in an e-mail. "There are several students of Brick Twp. schools, and the families of PBA members that volunteer their time to wrap the gifts under the supervision of Nadine Burgess."
