Mantoloking Beach Remains Off Limits

Borough suffered heavy damage during Superstorm Sandy

Mantoloking's beaches remain off limits to the public following Superstorm Sandy.

The borough was home to a breach that split Ocean County's northern barrier island in half and was one of the hardest hit communities in New Jersey during the storm.

Officials have not set a date as to when the beach may reopen, though they have acknowledged that they will attempt to open it at some point this summer. Presently, signs still remain posted that anyone who tries to access the beach will be prosecuted.
