12th Annual Caring Classic Golf Outing

Ocean County –The 12th Annual Caring Classic Golf Outing, benefiting Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVJ) www.caregivervolunteers.org  is scheduled for Monday, May 7th at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Lakewood. Supporting CVCJ as Presenting Sponsor for the event is Woodhaven Lumber & Millwork, Inc., Lakewood.   Registration and lunch begins at noon, shot-gun start at 1:30, followed by dinner, awards, and prizes at 5:30.  Kevin Williams, host of WOBM’s Hometown View, will be CVCJ’s special guest and emcee at the dinner.

 

“While many eyes were on Augusta and the Master’s this April, we are focused on Ocean County to make this our largest and best outing ever”, said event co-chair Don Johansen of Harrogate Life Care Community in Lakewood.   “An afternoon of golf, friends, and knowing you are supporting an organization committed to helping the frail elderly right here in Ocean County is a winning combination” added Trish Mazejy of Bartley Healthcare, Jackson, event co-chair.

“Sponsorship opportunities are still available,” said CVCJ’s Director of Development, Sara Farley. “We are hopeful of surpassing 2011 Golf Outing success, as all our proceeds are dedicated to recruiting and training volunteers so we can meet the rapidly growing need for our vital services to the elderly” said Farley. CVCJ is a non-profit interfaith agency whose mission is to assist the frail and homebound elderly with everyday tasks enabling them to remain independent in their own homes. All services provided are free.  Over 1000 volunteers assist more than 2000 senior citizens each month with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, relief for Alzheimer’s disease caregivers, reassuring telephone calls, friendly/pet visits.
