Monmouth Medical Center Presents FREE Perinatal Mood Disorder Symposium

“Perinatal Mood Disorder Awareness” is a free community symposium focusing on prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety. The symposium is presented by Community Health Education at Monmouth Medical Center and the Central Jersey Family Health Consortium.

An expert panel will discuss the importance of the New Jersey state mandate requiring all hospitals and birthing centers to screen new mothers for the disorder. Survivors of postpartum depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders will share their stories, and attendees will learn about the disorders from medical professionals in several fields, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology.
