Brick Schools: Parent University

Brick Township Public Schools is pleased to present the second ever district-wide Parent University. Teachers and administrators welcome parents and guardians to participate in a series of interactive workshops addressing topics that directly affect their child’s education.

The program, which is open to all district parents, will be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 6 to 8:30 PM at the Veterans Memorial Elementary School.

Free childcare will be provided on site by the B.E.S.T. Program and Brick’s National Honor Society high school student volunteers.

Registration is first come first serve and space is limited. Visit www.brickschools.org to register between February 1 and March 1.

The workshops promise discussion and collaboration about the new strategies developed to help support students with mathematics and literacy studies. Multiple workshops will also be offered to help in the social development of a child growing up in the 21st century. Topics include: Navigating the Middle School Years, What’s So Special about Special Education, Parenting in the 21st Century: Internet, Texting, and Social Networks; Parenting to Prevent Bullying, Literacy, Math, and NJASK Testing: How Can You Help.  Each workshop is 35-45 minutes long and structured to encourage constructive dialogue.

Registration is required. Parents have the opportunity to participate in two workshops during the duration of Parent University.  Log-on to www.brickschools.org and visit the Headlines section to register for Parent University.  If you need assistance or are have trouble registering online, contact the Office of Community Relations at 732-785-3000 X-1070.
