Students selected after writing essays

Emma Havens Young School swore in the school’s new Peace Ambassadors recently, school officials told Patch.

In order to be considered, students wrote persuasive essays explaining how they would uphold the tenets of good character and conflict resolution.

Mr. Layton, EHY’s Kindergarten teacher, and two students sang, “Put a Little Love in Your Heart" during the ceremony, then the newly appointed Peace Ambassadors were congratulated by Principal Jennifer Joseph Vice Principal Ryan Blessing.

The "ambassadors" were presented with a Peace Medallion to commemorate the special occasion and their new appointment as school leaders
