Drum Point Mold Remediation Completed; Meeting On Wednesday

The Brick Township Board of Education says the Drum Point Elementary School mold remediation program has been completed, and a meeting will be held this week on the subject.

The meeting will be held in the auditorium at Brick Township High School on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

According to the district's website, the meeting's purpose will be to provide "an update on mold remediation and where we go from here."

Crews were working "around the clock," officials have said, to remove mold from the Drum Point Elementary School in Brick, according to Brick Township's superintendent.

"On wednesday of next week, [the remediation company will] come in at 3 p.m with a larger crew, and we are going to have crews working continuously, around the clock, to complete remediation by Nov. 10," Superintendent Walter Uszenski told Patch last week.

He said the district is working to respond to parental concerns about their children attending the school while the mold is still present.

Estimates from earlier this month put the total so far more than $356,000.
