BOE Awards Contracts for Upgrades, Repairs

HVAC upgrades, boiler replacement contracts awarded

The township's Board of Education awarded contracts for several facilities projects at its meeting Thursday night.

A $565,875 bid was awarded to Midcoast Mechanical for HVAC upgrades at Veterans Memorial Middle School, Lake Riviera Middle School, Drum Point Elementary and Osbornville Elementary.

The bid also includes an asbestos abatement and the removal of the boiler at Herbertsville Elementary School and the installation of a new boiler there.

The board also approved a $343,500 contract with  C & M Door Control, Inc. to replace doors at Brick Township High School. Also at BTHS, Lilich Corporation was awarded a $58,500 contract for window abatements.

Window replacements at BTHS and window balance replacements at Lake Riviera were included in an additional bid awarded to  Panoramic Windows & Doors for $414,000.

Finally, Wallace Brothers Inc. will perform vestibule upgrades at Midstreams Elementary School. That contract was worth $85,000.

The board rejected all bids for a vestibule upgrade project at Emma Havens, since all of the bids received by the district exceeded the amount budgeted for the project.
