5 Candidates Hope to Replace Wolf on School Board

Of those running, three ran for seats in the general school election April 27

Five Brick residents submitted applications to be appointed to fill the Board of Education seat left empty after Warren Wolf resigned earlier this month.

John Barton, Michael Conti, David Fischer, Konstantine Goulas and Walter F. Campbell all submitted resumes. All of the candidates will be interviewed by current board members Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Brick Township High School. Board of Education President Sharon Kight has said the current members of the board will vote to appoint one of the candidates at the board's regular meeting on Thursday, June 23.

Of the five candidates who filed to run, three – Barton, Fischer and Goulas – ran for a full term on the board in the April 27 school election. Of those three Goulas, 18, received the most votes, 3,752.

Whoever is selected by the current board members to take the seat will retain it until next April's school election.

Wolf, 84, resigned from the board prior to its June 8 meeting, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family. Last week, he also resigned from his position as head coach of the Lakewood Piners football team.
