June 4th is an exceptionally important day for Brick Township Residents. The Republican primary election for mayor is being contested and only one of the candidates, Joseph Sangiovanni, merits your consideration.

I have known Joe for over 30 years. He has worked to support me in my elections for County Freeholder, and during those years I have come to respect his desire to work for the betterment of his own community.

I enthusiastically supported him in his first attempt to win a seat on the Brick Township Board of Education and then supported him in his run as the Republican candidate for the Township council. Joe is a loyal Republican. He is part of the Chris Christie Team and on your ballot which you recently received mail, running under the Governor's banner column, B11.

As a Brick councilman, Joe has been proactive in not just local issues but has been an advocate for his constituency on County issues which effect Brick residents. He has fought for County road improvements, Brick's fair share of County contributions for its parks and was instrumental in pushing for our participation in developing Traders Cove. Joe's interest in senior issues became apparent with me when dealing with public transportation upgrades provided by Ocean County. He also acted as an advocate for senior health and nutrition services.

Joe recognizes the frustration and trepidation of those who are attempting to rebuild after hurricane Sandy for he is experiencing the same anxiety after losing his own home. He is using these experiences and knowledge to help his neighbors rebuilt.

My friends, I believe Joe Sangiovanni to be the strongest and most qualified leader. As mayor, he will build a better Brick.

Sincerely,
Joe Vicari, Freeholder
