Six Police Officers Promoted
Six police officers were sworn into their new positions at Tuesday night's Township Council meeting.
Six police officers were promoted and sworn into their new positions on Tuesday, Dec. 4, including a new captain, two lieutenants and three sergeants.
"I found myself repeating, 'I couldn't be more proud," Brick Township Police Chief Nils Bergquist said prior to his officers being sworn into their new positions in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
A captain and lieutenant had retired in the past month, leading to the promotions, township officials said.

The following officers were promoted with their new ranks: Capt. Robert Mazza, Lt. Terrence Covert, Lt. David Forrester, Sgt. Patrick Cook, Sgt. Larry Petrola, and Sgt. Jason Matthews.
