Lamb Loses Primary Bid; Talty, Jr. Files to Run For Council

Democrats, GOP will be represented by party-supported council candidates this year

Joe Lamb, a Democrat who challenged the regular township party organization for the chance to run for a seat on the township council, handily lost his bid to do so during Tuesday's primary election. The Republican side was uncontested, and one independent candidate – John Talty, Jr. – filed to run in the general election.

Four seats on Brick's governing body will be up for grabs in the general election in November.

On the Democratic side, Lamb received 485 votes, according to an unofficial tally from the Ocean County Clerk's office, representing 11.06 percent of the vote. Susan Lydecker received 1,013 votes; Robert Moore received 989 votes; James Fozman received 978 votes; and John Ducey received 917 votes. There were five write-in votes.
