Lake Riviera Road Improvements Planned

Cedarwood Park will also see road improvements

Roadway and drainage improvements are planned for two sections of Brick Township.

The township council recently voted in favor of accepting bids for work in the Lake Riviera and Cedarwood Park sections. Work will include paving, road maintenance and drainage improvements in the areas.

Roads included in the Lake Riviera improvement plan are Spruce Drive, Montana Drive, Arizona Drive, Huxley Drive, Lake Shore Drive and others. Virginia Drive will be fully reconstructed under the plan.

The Cedarwood Park improvements will cover Applegate Avenue, Victory Avenue as well as several other streets.

"I'm really happy to see some of these roads being done," said Councilwoman Susan Lydecker, referring to the Lake Riviera improvements. "We've had residents come in with petitions, and I've walked around myself with residents."

The improvements were authorized under the township's 2011 capital budget but are just now coming to fruition.

"It just takes a while to get through the process," said Mayor Stephen C. Acropolis.
