Time to put our Votes where are mouths have been -- Get out and Vote! Exercise your right as a citizen. I would just like to impress on everyone to vote with their heads and not their hearts - whoever you choose to vote for - whether you vote yes or no -- think long and hard on all the implications down the road. Be sure to do your research. Most of all I would like to remind everyone that the BOE elections are supposed to be what is best for the Children - not a mudslinging contest. The Town referendum should be voted on its merits and not a personal grudge. My vote: Fischer, Goulas Yes Yes Lets hope the taxpayers of Brick can leave their heated emotions home, and vote on the merits, not on favors.

You are right Jenny. I think the mudslinging is stupid. However, this continued attempt from Fischer's group to characterize that there are "Two groups warring" makes is not accurate. I got the mailers from the Leone/Merola/Zawacki group and their one item was definitely a piece of garbage. They should have sent only the other one. The piece from the Kight/Reid/Suter campaign ws one of the best I have gotten. It was classy and informative. The only thing that came close to "mudslinging" actually called their opponents "fine people". What have you seen from the second group to make you allege this mudslinging? For the record, if you know anything about how the BOE works, you need to be able to get 4 people to agree. As for the reality of who is running this year; I voted for Fischer last year and I believed a "new voice" could make a difference. With everything that went on this year he said nothing. Then I saw what appeared in the Patch that he supposedly wrote and he DEFINITELY lost my vote. I was at the debate and asked him similar questions and his responses here and those that night do not match. - FISCHER -NO Goulas is a great kid and DeSalle is 2 hours away not a local college. As a freshman he needs to focusing on that 1st year. It is important. I dont know anyone who could do a good job on the BOE and be as successful as Kon deserves to be in college. - GOULAS - NO (but run again after college)

@David Lee -- check out this website for Kight/Reid/Suter and tell me they are not playing the mudslinging game. http://info.hopeforbrick.com/LMZMailer.html Read #2 under their definition of LIE - 2: to create a false or misleading impression --- just what kind of false impression are they promoting -- especially when they lump Fischer in with Leone/Merola/Zawacki just because he "might" be a Democrat? Does that mean Kight/Reid/Suter are all Republicans? This is what I mean by "mudslinging". Get the facts - Be Honest - the definition under their heading "half truth" "a statement that is only partly true and that is intended to deceive people ▪ I'm tired of all these half-truths—I want to know the real story. " Why don't they give their affiliation as well. Aren't they just promoting a "half-truth". This page is set up to inflame the voters.

@David Lee - As for your comment on 4 people to agree -- I believe it is in the best interest of all involved, especially the children, to have independent thinkers on the board. Not a group all ready set up with an agenda. At least it will take a concerted effort for ALL BOE members to actually do research on the questions to be decided on. All points of view would be equally debated with the most logical and best decision voted on. When you have 4 people unwilling to listen to the other side of an argument, you have rule by power and not by democracy.

@David Lee -- " I voted for Fischer last year and I believed a "new voice" could make a difference." And now you think a "new voice" will not make a difference? You really think the BOE was better off voting in Talty and Wolf? Do you go to the meetings or watch the broadcasts? Do you really think Wolf is a viable member of the BOE? He can't remember what is being voted on from one minute to the next. And nobody on the BOE, including Talty, seems to care. He is not computer savvy and it does not seem anyone is willing to help him understand the important issue before the BOE. A "new voice" or "voices" is exactly what this board needs. Some one computer savvy like Goulas could be an asset for Wolf, help him with the computer technology, explain what is going on. Fischer has repeatedly said he would work with ALL the members of the BOE!

@David Lee -- " Then I saw what appeared in the Patch that he supposedly wrote and he DEFINITELY lost my vote. I was at the debate and asked him similar questions and his responses here and those that night do not match" - I am not sure what specific questions you asked Mr. Fischer at the forum since all questions were a compilation from the people who attended, or what you might have heard were his responses. But, what I listened to and read matched up. Ms. Kight seemed never to address a question directly, only bash the members of the current BOE and all her answers came from her written agenda that she alluded to each time she answered a question. She was also the only one to promote her agenda and ask for votes for her group. I found that to be very un-professional.

Thanks Jenny Now we are sure you are part of Fischer's campaign. And only a very ignorant person would believe you can "work with everyone". It sounds good to say but in practice does not work. Take the referendum as an example. YES or NO Mr. Fischer - which way are you voting? Or will the sign on your lawn say "MAYBE". I have already voted and I hope that I have made the right decisions. More importantly I hope that things will change and I voted for people who are concerned with making that happen. I am done with people who want to walk down the middle of the road... we have had enough of that. Walking down the middle of the road is the quickest way to get run over. The taxpayers have enough tire treads on their backs.
David Lee April 27, 2011 at 09:50 PM
By the way... nice job on writing his stuff. And as a final note... are you claiming Mr. Fischer is not a Democrat? But regardless of the answer how is calling someone a Democrat mudslinging?
