Evacuated Ocean County Voters Can Vote By Mail-in Ballot

Two locations in Southern Ocean are open through the weekend to vote.

Two places are available where people who have been displaced by Sandy can vote.

Voters can either go to the Ocean County Administration Building located at 101 Hooper Avenue, Room 116, in Toms River or the Southern Ocean Resource Center at 179 S Main Street in Stafford.

People at those locations will be handed a mail in ballot, which can be filled in and handed back. The deadline for mail in ballots to be received for counting is Monday at 3 p.m..

The hours are: today and tomorrow, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"We have relocated our staff from the Ocean County Courthouse to the Ocean County Administration Building at 101 Hooper Avenue,"  Ocean County Clerk Scott M. Colabella said in a press release.

Colabella advised anyone who had applied for a ballot application through the mail and who has not yet received the ballot should make a new application in person.

With delays in the mail delivery related to the flooding, severe damage to homes and power problems associated with this historic storm, the County Clerk's Office cannot assure that the last-minute voters will receive their ballot through the mail in time for the November 6 election, officials said.

"We realize this is a stressful time for our residents and we want to do everything we can to ensure every registered voter has the opportunity to cast a ballot in this presidential election," Colabella said.

B@B - the ballots themselves have errors - the Republican machine made sure our Democratic-Republican Party "bracket", which was duly qualified for and assented to by the courts, was broken up and scattered - independents in the Democratic-Republican Party were to have had their own column. After Len Marshall and Frederick LaVergne crushed their Congressional opponents in the first debates, they were shut out of the subsequent ones. The R's, by the way, did NOT qualify for a ballot line in NJ - see Docket # 12 -32977 in Federal Third District. They know, didn't even fight us, and are rushing to get out paper ballots and early voting before Monday's order compels them to change the machines...they are also lobbying very hard to further delay the decision so it does not affect this election. The documents from court, including the 3 page brief from the State asserting that "privilege", which the FEDS already said was unconstitutional, is still going to be applied regardless of what the court says is right...Justice delayed is justice denied. They're hiding BEHIND the storm...
