Council Members Offer Reward to Catch Park Fire Culprit

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information to catch and convict the individuals responsible for setting the Nov. 21 fire at Colorado Park.

Township Councilmen Jim Fozman and Domenick Brando are offering a combined $1,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of the person or persons who set fire to the Colorado Park playground on Nov. 21.

Fozman announced a $500 reward at the Dec. 4 Township Council Meeting and Brando said immediately that he would match the reward.

Brick Police said they were dispatched on Nov. 21 to a playground on fire at Colorado Park, at the end of Colorado Avenue.  Herbertsville Fire Station 24 responded and extinguished the fire.  Station 24 Fire Chief Mark Christensen said in a statement issued by Brick Police that the fire did not appear to start naturally and it has been deemed a suspicious fire.  No injuries were reported from the fire.
