Brick's Fall Leaf Collection Schedule Under Discussion

Township officials are in the process of deciding when fall leaf collections will take place, officials said at a recent township council meeting.

"It's something we look at, painstakingly, every year," said Business Administrator Scott Pezarras, adding that weather patterns sometimes drive the dates the collections will begin.

"Leaves are a really sticky situation because they fall at different times depending on the weather patterns," he said, explaining that a lack of rain during the summer could make leaves fall earlier, and vice versa.

Township officisla are looking to effectively upgrade the leaf collections this year by dedicating an extra trailer truck to the number of vehicles that are used to collect leaves. The trailer truck will be able to collect leaves in certain areas where a number of residents have alerted the town that leaves need to be collected beyond the scheduled dates.

"Hopefully, we'll be able to address the situation of people who put their leaves out late," Pezarras said.
