The Brick Township council meeting scheduled for Tuesday night has been rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 10.
Mayor Stephen C. Acropolis said the meeting has been rescheduled so township officials and the public can attend a planned ceremony and candlelight vigil Tuesday night commemorating the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
According to a meeting agenda distributed by the township, the meeting will include votes on various items for the Traders Cove Marina project, bulkhead repairs, automated garbage cans as well as a number of other regular consent agenda items.
The council is also set to introduce multiple ordinances which will effectively restructure several departments within township government, including the elimination of dedicated departments for Recreation as well as Community Development and Land Use. The duties of those departments, according to a proposed ordinance, will shift to divisions within existing departments.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the township .
I thought the rec dept was already merged into the Parks dept that was taken out of PW and created so Dave could have a public job. Land use, does this mean Juan will be leaving, or at the very least be taking a pay cut?
Cant wait to see what unqualified family members and friends get hired.
Surprise you can't do it when budgets are approved... Acropolis created these positions without an ordinance!!! Guess you need an ordinance to "FORCE" Acropolis to eliminate positions. Ridiculous... Acropolis must go!
