Brick Lays Salt As Part of Snow Forecast

Brick says it's deicing crews began at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday

Brick Township sent out its department of public work crews to salt Brick streets with a de-icing brine solution, in hopes of treating roads ahead of the storm.

Though plows for accumulation over 2 inches of snow were not needed, the fear of slick roads meant township salt trucks would begin laying de-icer, and according to the township the process began at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The State Police and Office of Emergency Management say the threat of black ice will continue for the next several nights.

The winter weather advisory cancelled school, recreational and senior department events Tuesday.
