Woman's Heels Blamed For Pizza Hut Crash

Car struck the building between two support columns.

A 30-year-old Trenton woman told police her heel got stuck on an accelerator, causing her to crash into the Pizza Hut at Brick Boulevard. 

Shylon Stewart was attempting to park her vehicle in the parking lot of the Pizza Hut located at 320 Brick Blvd. yesterday morning, police said.

While doing so, the vehicle struck the curb and continued moving forward through the plate glass window of the business. The vehicle struck the building between two support columns.

Officer Brian Williams responded to the scene and investigated the crash.

The Pioneer Hose Company (Station 22) along with the Brick Township Police Department’s Emergency Medical Services also responded. There were no customers in the store at the time of the crash and no employees were injured.  The driver reported that she was uninjured and refused medical attention.

The township building inspector responded and deemed the structure safe.

According to the store manager the business re-opened 1:30 pm.
