Van Runs Into Brick 7-11; Police Looking For Driver

Police are looking for a suspect who was responsible for driving a van into a 7-11 on Sunday.

At approximately 6:15 a.m., officers responded to the 7-11 located at 335 Brick Blvd. for a report of a hit and run accident.

Brick Police dispatch was advised that a white van had struck the building and fled the area.

Officers arriving on scene conducted a check of the surrounding area, but found nothing. The building was closed by the Brick Township Building Department until repairs can be made to make the building safe, police said.

Attached to this story is a still picture of the van that was parked in front of the store prior to the crash, and also a picture of the believed make and model of the van that was involved.

Brick Police are continuing to work with store management to secure video of the crash, and will release upon receipt. The accident is being investigated by Patrolman David Thergesen, police said.

Anyone who believes that they may have information regarding this crash can contact the Brick Township Police Traffic Safety Unit at 732-262-1140.

They may also contact the Brick Township Police Department directly at 732-262-1100.

Hmmm....let's c just over a week ago a "white van with rear tinted windows" abducted n assaulted a female in same area of brick.....now a white van hits the 7-11 in the same area of brick and takes off. Coincidence??????

there is a license plate visible in the still picture. If it could be enlarged you might make out the plate.

Kathy that is not a license plate. This van only has a rear plate. My guess is the van is registered in PA, the driver is non Caucasian , and there is no insurance on the van.

Look at 2nd picture taken from inside store, sure looks like a license plate down by black bumper

Brian migs, I thought the same thing! Where is the follow up on that story that so many said seemed so sketchy?

Most likely a Ford Van with the license plate on the side of the bumper like that vs a Chevy van in the provided picture.

What I don't understand is why would they post a picture of a van that has nothing to do with the crime and just post the still of the actual van that did it. Which does have a front NJ plate. It was a white male. It was sudden and loud but I think this may have just been a drunk driver who took off.

Well, I am thinking it was on purpose... Cave in the front doors of the store and run away...by the time the workers get to the back door, guy or girl is out of site.

The reason law enforcement dies nothing is they are not in the system. There for they don't have any means is suspending thire license or registration. How ever under the constitution you don't need a drivers license nor a registration on your car. They fall under common law...amd not the driving statues of the state. You only need a drivers license or insurance when doing commerce. The township has no jurisdiction over you when just traveling. Next time a cop stops ask him what the emergency I see you have your lights on. A cop can only stop you if you are committing a crime.

Looks like a blonde in the passenger seat. Could be a jersey plate, or vanity. With all the guessing it could be a van,suv it shouldn't be so hard to find the vehicle if they hit the store someone might of gotten hurt. Check the camera outside the area it had to run a red light.

Hey Moonpool, I think some of the keys on your keyboard are broken.

I heard one of the employees was struck and injured from the vehicle's antenna. Now he is suffering from van aerial disease.

If this was CSI, that license plate number would be OWNED.
