Two Utility Pole Fires Extinguished

Traffic flow could be interrupted during repairs

Brick authorities responded to two, separate utility pole fires overnight.

The first fire, reported in front of 583 Adamston Road at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday night, caused wires to drop to the ground and caused interruption in electrical service to the immediate area, said Brick Police Capt. John Rein.

The second incident occurred at 7:05 am Thursday morning at the intersection of Pleasant Drive and Park Place. Arcing electrical wires caused a power line to fall to the ground and resulted in a small fire to some shrubbery, Rein said.
