Two boats struck a marsh and ran aground in Kettle Creek after Thursday night's fireworks in Brick Township, police said.

in the creek, said New Jersey State Police Capt. Stephen Jones. One of
the boats was a 25-foot vessel with seven people on board and the other was a 26-foot vessel with two people on board.
"Due to darkness and operator error, both boats ran aground," said Jones.
Jones said there was no indication of alcohol being involved in the incident.

said. Troopers on a state police boat brought the passengers from one of
the boats back to shore while the Brick fire boat transported the passengers on the other.
