Trooper Treats Construction Worker for Saw Wound

Trooper applied a quick-acting clotting agent to the wounds.

Quick action by a New Jersey State Police Trooper is being credited with helping a construction worker who was working near milemarker 91 on the Garden State Parkway yesterday.

State Trooper Sgt. Adam Grossman said the man was working in the median of the Parkway around 2:45 p.m. when a saw, caused a "large wound to his sternum and chest area."

Trooper Michael Kleissler applied a quick-acting clotting agent to the man's wounds, and he was taken by local emergency medical personnel to an area hospital for treatment of his wounds.
