Three Teens Arrested in Brick Armed Robbery

Group suspected of robbing man of $1,000

Two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old woman have been charged with robbing a Toms River man of $1,000.

The investigation began July 5, when a Lions Lane homeowner called police at about 11:40 p.m. to report a male had walked up to the home, claiming he had been robbed. The alleged victim, later identified as a 20-year-old Toms River man, fled from the home but police caught up with him a short time later, according to Brick Police Capt. John Rein.

The man told police he was in a vehicle with two other males and a female driver, when one of the male passengers pointed a gun at him and demanded money. He said he handed over $1,000, after which he was ordered out of the vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, and told to lie on the ground.

Police investigated the incident overnight and into Friday, eventually focusing on a home where the suspect vehicle was said to be located, Rein said. Police performed a motor vehicle stop on the Sentra late Friday morning, Rein said, leading to the arrest of one of the male suspects – a 17-year-old – and the female driver, identified as Staci Fayard, 18, of Toms River.

The third suspect, another 17-year-old from Toms River, was arrested later in the afternoon.

The suspected weapon, a BB gun, has been recovered by police, said Rein.

Both male juveniles were charged with robbery, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. They were both remanded to the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Facility in Toms River.

Fayard was charged with robbery, and bail was set at $150,000. She was being lodged in the Ocean County Jail, records showed Sunday.
