TD Bank on Cedar Bridge Ave. Robbed

Police looking for heavy-set white male who fled on foot

Police are on the hunt for a man who they say robbed the TD Bank branch on Cedar Bridge Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. John Rein said the man, described as a heavy-set white male with grey hair, fled on foot after receiving an unknown amount of money from a teller. According to Rein, the man entered the branch around 4:30 p.m. and handed a note to a teller demanding money. Police do not believe the man showed a weapon during the robbery.

After stuffing the money in a plastic shopping bag, the man fled the scene on foot and headed west in the direction of Route 70. By 5:30 p.m., police were still searching for the man, who was said to be wearing a grey sweatshirt and dark pants.
