Steel Wall Project to Cause Detours in Mantoloking

Lyman Street, East Avenue will be affected

Mantoloking officials on Friday announced several detours that will result from the ongoing steel revetment project along the borough's oceanfront.

According to a statement from the Mantoloking Police Department, EIC, the state's contractor, will be moving their operation to Lyman Street on Monday, July 14, for approximately eight to 10 days.

During that time, Lyman Street will be closed to traffic, East Avenue traffic will be forced to exit onto Stephens Place, and residents and contractors who live or work past Stephens will be allowed to drive north and south to exit.

The borough's public works department have placed markers in necessary locations already, the statement said.

The revetment project kicked off Thursday.
