Police: Lakewood Man Ran From Cops, Later Picked up on Brick Warrant

Cops: group of men had been illegally trespassing at a Lakewood building

Lakewood police arrested a township man wanted on a warrant out of the Brick municipal court after he ran from them, a statement from the department said.

The incident began when police were called to the area of 520 Massachusetts Avenue at about 1 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a complaint of a loud group that was trespassing in the High Point complex, the statement said.

Upon arrival the responding officers reported that multiple people began running in different directions, but those who remained were told about a "no trespassing" policy.

After the crowd dispersed several officers remained in the area, police said, and a short time later were met by three men who returned after being told not to.

When the officers began to approach them for violating the "No Trespassing" policy, they fled the area in foot, the statement said, and were quickly apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

As a result, 23-year-old Devin Adair, of Jay Street, and Armond and Amir Conover, both 20, of Laurel Avenue, were charged with Trespassing.

Armond Conover was served with two outstanding warrants from Brick and Tinton Falls.
