@ Samantha. Sorry for your loss. It's a darn shame that some people above are always looking for negativity in an accident. Jumping to conclusions. And, @ Let's be honest; another negative comment... "no one in Lakewood reads English? Very sad comment from you, too.

Samantha, sorry for your loss, but you need to not be so nasty. The teenage driver was travelling at a high rate of speed, lost control of his car and ran into other. Unfortunately both people in that car were killed. May they both RIP

Friends, as an emergency service volunteer and someone who has had lots of driving experience (domestic and international), all I can say is it's really getting scary out there and down here! Every stoplight or intersection "must" be a drag race. Every light "must' be beaten. "Normal" driving down here is like a scene out of a NASCAR race. I've seen people running red lights, cutting people off simply to be one car ahead in a line of a dozen cars, people making turns with one hand because they MUST talk 24/7 on the cell, etc. All this going on while emergency services had to fight the state to allow us to LEGALLY use our emergency radios in our cars. The other day, a sweet, considerate older lady, slowed down to let me out in front of her on a busy street. As she slowed down, a chorus of honking horns behind her rang out followed by dangerously blind passes!! I was waiting for a head on collision. At least, if anything, the people doing these dangerous passes and flying blindly down the road will either make it to their destination 30 seconds faster...or die trying!

What about the rain and snow crap? Don't assume things until they are released, until it was said they were speeding, I would wait to speak ill of the dead.

Anecdotally, I'd have to say the Route 70-Herbertsville Road intersection has to be the biggest "drag race" scene in town when the light turns green. Even a tow truck – while towing a car – was doing everything it could to beat me across one day last week!

Some people think its having "good manner" when they slow down or stop to allow another person in. In all actuality, unless their light or signal is red, they should NOT be stopping or slowing down. THAT causes accidents. You don't stop in the middle of a highway just to allow another to get in. Make that a habit and someone will most definitely end up in your back seat. Dan Nee...I concur with you on Rte. 70 and Herbertsville Road.

And, here's another scenario: You are at a "T" intersection. You are waiting, looking left & right for the opportunity to go into traffic. Up comes a vehicle who wants to turn into your street. The wave you to go out, or it's ok to go. Well, if you listen to them, and you hit another vehicle because the other didn't see them either, they too may also be at fault for causing this accident. I NEVER listen to anyone giving me the OK to pull out into traffic. Of course that gets them upset for not listening to you, but in fact, you are correct to wait until YOU feel it is comfortable to pull out into the traffic lane.
