Speed restrictions have taken effect on the Garden State Parkway, in both directions, from Stafford Township to the New York state line in Montvale.
The speed limit is 50 miles per hour because of snowfall, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. The speed restriction was announced at 6:02 a.m.
Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling on the heavily-used roadway, from exit 63 in Stafford to the northernmost point of the Garden State Parkway on the New York state line.
