Pair Indicted in String of Brick Auto Break-Ins

Incidents happened Nov. 30

Francisco J. Chadwick, 23, of Allen Terrace, New Egypt, and Courtney M. Murphy, 19, of Bartley Road, Jackson, have been indicted in connection with a string of auto burglaries, thefts, and the fraudulent use of credit cards in Brick, Lakewood and Toms River.

On Nov. 30 in Brick they are accused of breaking into a Volkswagon Passat and using a credit card stolen from its owner at a Shell station in Brick, an Exxon station in Lakewood, a 7-11 and a Hess station in Toms River.

Also on Nov. 30 in Brick they are charged with breaking into a Buick Enclave, a Ford Windstar, and a Mitsubishi Galant, and with stealing a cell phone charger, two portable DVD players, DVDs, and an A/C adaptor from the Mitsubishi’s owner. Between Nov. 29 and Dec. 2 in Brick They are accused of breaking into a Nissan Pathfinder and stealing an Apple I-Pod, clothing and body spray.

During the same time they are accused of breaking into a Mercedes Benz 300, a Toyota 4 Runner, Toyota Corolla, Chrysler P. T. Cruiser and using a credit card stolen from the PT Cruiser’s owner at an Exxon station in Lakewood, Exxon and Shell stations in Toms River and a Sunoco station in Jackson on Dec. 3.

Chadwick is in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. Murphy was served with a summons.

Other recent indictments include:

  • Robert R. Scott, 39, and Rebecca J. Scott, 31, both of Hemlock Drive, Lanoka Harbor, accused of possessing two vacuums stolen from the Target store in Brick on Nov. 30, and shoplifting the vacuums. Robecca Scott is also accused of heroin possession.
  • Anna Marie Seufert, 20, of East Granada Drive, Brick, accused of stealing a woman’s jewelry between Sept. 10-23 in South Toms River, and a man’s jewelry in Toms River on Oct. 20.
