Man Indicted in Brick Motorcycle Theft

Manalapan resident was indicted by the Monmouth County Grand Jury twice last week

A Monmouth County grand jury has indicted a Manalapan man for stealing a motorcycle from a Brick resident and obtaining a car from an area dealership with a forged check.

Eugene Lanzaro, 47, a resident of Lamb Lane, stole a motorcylce belonging to a resident of Brick on June 17, 2011, the indictment states. Additionally, Lanzaro is being indicted on theft charges for stealing a car from Pine Belt Chevrolet, located in Freehold Township.

According to the indictment, Lanzaro obtained the motor vehicle on June 29, 2011 from the dealership by writing a fraudulent check. Lanzaro wrote the check for the vehicle in someone else's name and forged their signature, the indictment charges. Therefore, he is also being indicted on forgery and uttering a forged instrument.

On the same day, Lanzaro was also indicted on charges of theft by taking movable property and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

On August 3, 2011 Lanzaro drove a stolen vehicle (a separate vehicle than the one Lanzaro obtained illegally from Pine Belt Chevrolet) into Spring Lake Heights, according to the indictment. Lanzaro also allegedly had the drug oxycodone on his person without a prescription.
